Write a stunning cover letter that grabs the attention of the employer and they will soon be calling you for an interview. Follow these tips to write a cover letter for a biotechnology job.

  • Take the time to address the cover letter to an actual person. You want the letter to appear personal by including the name of the person hiring at the top of the letter. Make a phone call to the place of employment and ask for the contact name.
  • Offer a unique fact at the beginning of your cover letter to capture the employer's interest or state a problem in the field. Then tell the employer how you can solve that problem.
  • If you read about the job somewhere, reiterate the points in the ad. You want to show potential employers that you have exactly the skills they are seeking.

  • Include communication skills in your cover letter because all employers need employees who are able to communicate by writing and by speaking clearly. Make sure you list your ability to communicate, research and write using a computer.
  • List individual skills and knowledge that are not included in the resume. Your cover letter should lead the reader to the resume, not copy it.
  • End your cover letter with a thank you and a call to action. Either ask the employer to contact you or suggest you will contact the employer. Make sure you include all your contact information at the end of the cover letter.
