Applications are invited from the eligible candidates as per UGC Notification dated 18.09.2010 for the following posts, so as to reach the Deputy Registrar (Estt.), Panjab Univrsity, Chandigarh
by 19.12.2011: -
II. Professors – 41 (Grade Rs. 37400-67000+AGP of Rs. 10000 in the following Departments/Centres/Institutes): -
Centre for Nano-Science & Nano-Technology – 1;
Institute of Forensic Science & Crimionology -1;
University Business School (MBA Biotechnology) -1;
Biotechnology- 2 (SC-1, ST-1)};
III. Associate Professors -56 (Grade Rs. 37400-67000+AGP of Rs. 9000 in the following Departments/Centres/Institutes)
Biophysics -1;
Biochemistry-4;
Human Genome Studies & Research -1;
University Business School (MBA Biotechnology) -1;
IV. Assistant Professors -96 (Grade Rs. 15600-39100 + AGP of Rs.6000 in the following Departments/Centres/Institutes)
Biophysics -3 (Gen.-1, SC-1, ST-1);
Centre for System Biology & Bio informatics-1 (SC - under UGC XI Plan - temporary but likely to continue),
University Institute of Engineering & Technology – 15 {Biotechnology -10 (Gen-8 ( Preference in 4 posts for candidates from Engineering background), SC-1, ST-
* Those candidates who had already applied earlier in response to Advt. No. 13/2010 for the post of Assistant Professor in Public Health need not apply again.
Note: The selection for advertised SC/ST Category posts are subject to the decision of CWP No. 18242 of 2011.
1. 3% posts are reserved (out of total strength of Professors, Associate Professors/Assistant Professors) for physically handicapped persons with Locomotors disability or Blindness or Low vision, subject to eligibility, suitability and fitness for the job.
2. The Vice-Chancellor could place before the Selection Committee names of suitable persons for its consideration along with the applications received in response to the advertisement.
3. If any information supplied by the candidate in his application form is found to be incorrect/false at any stage, his candidature/selection will stand cancelled.
4. The number of posts can be increased or decreased as per need at the time of selection.
5. Conditions given in the Detailed Instructions supplied with the application form shall also be applicable.
6. University reserves the right not to fill any of the above posts.

Application form along with Detailed Instructions can be had either from Form Counter, Panjab University, Chandigarh, on payment of Rs. 375/- (Rs. 150/- for SC/ST Category) or the candidates may download application form from the Website And may also attach Academic Performance Indicator (API) based Performance Based Appraisal System (PBAS) Proforma available on website and submit duly filled-in all respects, along with the crossed A/c Payee Bank Draft of the Rs. 375/- (Rs. 150/- for SC/ST Category) payable at Chandigarh in favour of the Registrar, Panjab University, Chandigarh.
