NIPER JEE Pharmacy Exam Details

National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (NIPER) is the most prominent pharmacy institute in India which offers various post graduate level pharmacy programs. This Institute conducts a Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) for the intake of eligible candidates to any of these post graduate level programs. Eligibility criteria specified for this entrance exam is discussed below.

Qualifying examinations for NIPER JEE
Different qualifying examinations are specified for various pharmacy programs, which are given below
  • Candidates who possess B.Pharm or M.Sc in Organic Chemistry degree can apply for M.S. (Pharm) program in Medicinal Chemistry or Natural Products
  • Candidates who possess B.Pharm or M.Sc in Organic Chemistry/Analytical Chemistry degree can apply for M.S. (Pharm) program in Pharmaceutical Analysis
  • Candidates who possess B.Pharm, B.V.Sc or M.B.B.S degree can apply for M.S. (Pharm) program in Pharmacology and Toxicology
  • Candidates who possess B.Pharm degree can apply for M.S. (Pharm) program in Pharmaceutics
  • Candidates who possess B.Pharm or M.Sc in Biological Sciences degree can apply for the M.S. (Pharm) program in Biotechnology
  • Candidates who possess B.Pharm degree can apply for M.Pharm program in Pharmacy Technology (Formulations) or Pharmacy Practice or Clinical Research
  • Candidates who possess B.Pharm or M.Sc in Organic Chemistry or B.Tech in Chemical Engineering/its equivalent degree can apply for M.Tech (Pharm) program in Pharmacy Technology (Process Chemistry)
  • Candidates who possess B. Pharm or M.Sc in Life sciences degree can apply for M.Tech (Pharm) program in Pharmacy Technology (Biotechnology)
  • Candidates who possess B.Pharm or M.Sc in Organic/Physical/ Pharmaceutical Chemistry or M.Sc./B.Tech in Bioinformatics or M.Sc in Biochemistry/ Molecular Biology/
  • Biotechnology/ Microbiology degree can apply M.S (Pharm) program in Pharmacoinformatics
  • Candidates who possess B.Pharm or B.V.Sc or M.Sc in Pharmacology/ Toxicology/ LifeSciences/Biochemistry/Medical Biotechnology/Zoology or M.B.B.S degree can apply for M.S (Pharm) program in Regulatory Toxicology
  • Candidates who possess B.Pharm or B.A.M.S or M.Sc in Botany degree can apply for M.S (Pharm) program in Traditional Medicine
  • Candidates who possess B.Pharm/ B.Tech in Chemical Engineering or its equivalent/M.Sc in Chemical/Life Sciences degree can apply for M.B.A. (Pharm.) program in Pharmaceutical Management
  • Candidates should also possess sixty percent marks in their qualifying examination to apply for the NIPER JEE conducted for the admission to various post graduate level pharmacy programs. SC/ST candidates need only fifty five percent marks and physically handicapped candidates need only fifty percent marks in their qualifying examination to apply for the same.
Who can apply for NIPER JEE?
Candidates who wish to apply for NIPER JEE should possess valid GPAT or GATE or NET score. These scores are not applicable for those candidates specified below
  • Candidates having B.V.Sc or MBBS or B.A.M.S degree
  • Foreign candidates
  • Sponsored candidates from any public or private sector undertakings
  • Sponsored candidates from government departments and research and development organizations
  • NRI candidates applying for M.B.A program
Candidates should possess the score of the concerned exam at the time of counseling or during the group discussion and interview.
