PhD Scholarship in Biotechnology in Biotech company - Switzerland

The Position
We are looking for a PhD student who will investigate network oscillations in models of CNS diseases including schizophrenia and autism. In this position you will:
participate in a 3-year research training program (EU Marie Curie Initial Training Network).
record and analyze signals from acute brain slices and cultured neurons using a high-resolution microelectrode array system.be part of the PhD program at ETH Zurich. Additional courses and trainings will be organized within the Training Network in 5 different EU countries.
closely collaborate with researchers at the ETH Zurich.

You have:
a master’s degree in neuroscience, physics, biotechnology or biology and are highly motivated. A solid background in data analysis and signal processing are desired.
basic knowledge in electrophysiology as well as cell handling skills.
interest in working in a multidisciplinary and multinational environment.
fluency in English is required, German and/or French are optional.
Important note: Eligibility to the Marie Curie ITN scheme requires that the candidate has not spent more than 12 months in Switzerland in the 3 years immediately preceding the appointment for this position. The start date for this position must be before April 1, 2012.
