A postdoctoral position in computational biology is available at a new lab at the Center for Biomedical Informatics at the Harvard Medical School (HMS). The lab is focused on developing and applying novel computational methods to analysis of epigenetic and regulatory state of the cells from high-throughput sequencing and other modern assays. The candidate will have an opportunity to work in close cooperation with experimental collaborators, investigating complex tissues and pathologies across a variety of model organisms and clinical samples.
Requirements:
- A strong interest in conducting collaborative research on the topics outlined above is paramount.
- Excellent communication skills.
- PhD degree in Computational Biology, Bioinformatics Biophysics, or a related discipline.
- Track record of publications in peer-reviewed journals.
- Expertise in statistical methods and algorithm development in the context of biological systems.
- High proficiency in R and Bioconductor. Knowledge of C/C++ and Java, as well as general proficiency with UNIX operating systems is strongly desired.
- Experience in analysis of functional sequencing data, such as RNA-seq or ChIP-seq is advantageous.
