Eligible candidates are invited to attend Walk-in-interview for one post each of Junior Research Fellow under DBT Twinning programme for NER entitled “Development of surrogate broodstock technology for commercially important fish species: implications for speedy propagation and conservation” to be held on 15th February, 2012 at 11. A.M in the “ATIC building” of the complex at Umiam.

Post : Junior Research Fellow

Essential qualification : Master Degree in Fisheries / Biotechnology / Life Science / Zoology / Animal Science. Desirability is NET/GATE Qualification and Working experience in Histopathology/Cell culture/molecular biology with good knowledge in computer applications.

Maximum age limit : 35yrs for men and 40 yrs for women candidates.

Emoluments payable : Rs. 16,000/- plus 10% HRA

Candidates are required to bring all relevant documents, certificates and mark sheets in original along with an application with full bio-data addressed to the Director of the Institute. A passport size photograph may also be affixed on the top of the application enclosing photocopies of certificates and mark sheets from Matriculation/HSLC onwards duly attested. No TA/DA and official accommodation will be provided for appearing in the interview. The post are purely contractual and co-terminus with the project and having no provision for regularization. The Director reserves the right to cancel/postpone the interview without assigning any reason thereof. He also reserves the right to terminate the contract, even before completion of the project for which no appeal thereof shall be made.

Educational Qualification : Ph.D in Life Sciences including Veterinary Sciences /Biotechnology
Desirable : Experience in animal cell Culture techniques and basic tools in Cellular & molecular biology.
Fellowship : 22000/- + 20% HRA pm
Age : Below 40 years as on 31-01-2012.
Duration : 03 years or till completion of project, whichever is earlier.

Funded by : National Fund for Basic Strategic & Frontier Area of Agricultural Research (NFBSFARA)
Educational Qualification : Ph. D (Animal Genetics/ Animal Biotechnology/ Animal Biochemistry/ Veterinary Microbiology) or M. Sc. / Ph.D. (Biotechnology/ Biochemistry/Microbiology/Bioinformatics).

Educational Qualification : Ph. D (Animal Genetics & Breeding/ Animal Biotechnology/ Animal Biochemistry/ Veterinary Physiology) or M. Sc. / Ph.D. (Biotechnology/ Biochemistry).
Desirable qualification : Working knowledge of molecular biology Techniques (DNA/RNA isolation, Cloning, Southern, Northern, Western blotting, Genomic and or cDNA library screening, ELISA, Bacterial culture, transformation, Real Time PCR and other relevant techniques) evident ONLY through dissertation work/ research publication.

Total emoluments: For SRF: @ Rs. 16000/- per month (I & II yr) & Rs. 18000/- per month (III yr and onwards); For RA: @ Rs. 23000/- and Rs 24000 per month for Masters and Ph.D degree holders. HRA admissible @ 20% as per ICAR norm. Age: Maximum 35 years (relaxable as per GOI rule)

The eligible candidate may appear directly in a “Walk-in Interview” on 16/02/2012(Thursday) at 11.00 am in Genome Analysis Laboratory, Animal Genetics Division, IVRI. However, the candidates should submit their detailed Bio-data indicating Date of birth, educational qualification & distinction, publications (supported with reprints) and experiences along with a color passport size photo latest by 10.45 am of date of interview. In the application, candidates should indicate “positon (i.e., SRF/RA) and name of the project” they are applying for.
